Mission Statement
IMIT’s mission is to serve as a medical information provider and healthcare communicator to the Russian-speaking medical community in the United States and world-wide. The primary goal of IMIT is to provide the latest medical and health related information and opinions to native Russian speakers on an ongoing basis to ensure their continued education on important breakthroughs in medicine, health and related research. Methods and Means
This goal will be achieved initially through writing summaries of primary research papers from the top world medical journals in Russian and posting them free of charge on IMIT's website, www.medmir.com. This project will allow Russian-speaking physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to have access to comprehensive, up-to-date medical information in a timely manner. IMIT’s project aims to benefit directly both the large number of Russian speakers who are practicing medicine in the United States, Russia and other former Soviet Union Republics and the even larger number of patients around the world for whom these health care professionals provide medical care. The website is free to all users. Special sections of the IMIT website are devoted to internal medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology and neurosurgery, infectious diseases and oncology. As the project matures, IMIT will also provide interviews with healthcare professionals in the USA and Russia, informational tours to the top American hospitals, and other medical and health related information on its website.
Company Purpose
The purpose and projects of IMIT seek to improve the quality of care delivered to patients, and the level of knowledge exercised by medical practitioners, in the Russian-speaking communities around the world.Letter of the President
Achievements in the areas of pharmacology and radiology, and the translation of the latest technical achievements into all spheres of patient diagnosis and care, have led to substantial changes in medicine during the course of the past decades.
The knowledge doctors gain during their initial training is getting outdated as new medical information rapidly accumulates. The emergence of a new field — evidence-based medicine — driven by controlled clinical studies, and systematic reviews and meta-analysis, has played a particular role in modern medical practice.
The rapid changes in medical science have forced practicing doctors around the world to read medical periodicals on the regular basis. Access to the best medical journals, and especially to the clinical study and meta-analysis reports, is a must for the success of continuing medical education that, in turn, assures high qualification of a physician.
Our goal is to help Russian-speaking doctors be informed of all the most important developments in medical science with a minimal waste of time and energy.
We bring to the medical professionals' attention short summaries of the clinical study and meta-analysis reports written in their native language by their colleagues, highly-qualified specialists. class="cite" Come to MedMir.com, read our articles, use the search engines; we're sure that you will find it beneficial to your professional development.
